The Farming at Manor Farm.
Manor Farm is a very traditional mixed farm, growing a variety of
arable crops on approx. 400 acres of farmland. On this Farm they pride
themselves in the philosophy that the best meat comes from well-kept, happy
animals. That's why the beef suckler herd and sheep are grazed on permanent
pasture and meadows under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme. The meat
that is produced here, is sold through their very own butchers shop in
Alton High Street and is also used in 'Anna's Kitchen' recipes. Anna's
Kitchen reflects the attitude to farming at Manor Farm;
use of their own meat, vegetables and herbs and ingredients from local source.
The Manor Farm Family.
The Brock family have farmed at Manor Farm for over 100 years.
Father and son, Thomas and Will, farm in partnership, along with their
wives, Elizabeth and Anna. In fact Will (picture next with Anna and daugther
Daisy) is the fourth generation Brock to farm here. The
Brock family are passionate about the animals, the farm and the countryside
and are very enthusiastic to pass this knowledge on to their guests.
Anna has her own business producing ready-prepared meals using meat produced
on the farm under the brand 'Anna’s Kitchen'.
All the meals from Anna's Kitchen are home-cooked at
Manor Farm with ingredients chosen by her, so she knows there
are no additives, preservatives or genetically modified ingredients.
Pets allowed.
Pets are welcome, but please keep them under close control near livestock.
The location of the Feather Down Tent.

Special on Manor Farm.
The Brock family are passionate about the animals, the farm and the countryside and are very enthusiastic to pass this knowledge on to their guests. There is a very nice animal pasture and hen-house on Manor Farm situated in an old railway carriage in the former orchard. This railway carriage was used in the past to seasonally house the people who harvested the hops on Manor Farm.
Llamas on patrol; Sheep Watch.
What's the best way to keep the foxes away from the sheep? On Manor Farm
they have found a special way.
Alfie, Archie and Arnie, the pet llamas on the Farm, have solved the problem!
They are kept in the field with theherd of sheep. They consider the sheep
as their siblings and take great delight in furiously chasing the foxes
away. Only one condition; you can only put one llama in with the flock
of sheep; if two llamas are together they stop considering the sheep
as their siblings and are more interested in each other!
